Nasarawa 2027: Prof. Haruna Eyes Governorship Seat

As the 2027 governorship elections approach, Nasarawa State is witnessing a surge in interest from aspirants, including Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna, the former executive vice chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

Haruna argues that he is well-equipped to sustain the infrastructural developments initiated by the current governor, Abdullahi Sule, who is completing his second term. Under Sule's administration, significant projects have been undertaken, including the construction of 600 kilometers of roads and the launch of agricultural initiatives like the Nasarawa State rice brand.

Haruna emphasizes the need for a successor who understands the technical details of these projects and can continue the momentum of development. He also highlights the importance of diversifying the state's economy beyond reliance on federal allocations and addressing issues such as youth restiveness and insecurity.

Governor Sule has called for a fair and credible primary election process within the APC to ensure that the people's will is reflected in the selection of his successor.
