Gov Sule Faces Pressure to Contest for Senate in 2027

Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, revealed during a visit to the State Executive Council members, led by Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akab Gudi, that he is experiencing pressure to run for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 elections. He emphasized the necessity for quality representation in the region and mentioned that stakeholders are urging him to pursue this political path.

Sule indicated that he does not want to offend anyone by not responding to the calls for his candidacy and stated he would consider running when the time is right. He also noted that he had previously planned to support another candidate but has since changed his mind due to the encouragement from various individuals.

The governor intends to consult with stakeholders, including traditional rulers and senior politicians from Nasarawa North, before making a definitive decision. Sule is currently serving a two-term tenure as governor.
