Bauchi Governor Launches Six Modern Markets Construction

On Thursday, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed inaugurated the construction of six modern markets located at the Atiku Abubakar Bypass Road. This initiative is part of the state's strategy to respond to rapid population growth and increasing commercial traffic that has overstretched the old market infrastructure, leading to congestion and poor sanitation.

The new markets include Fanteka Market, Veget Market, Perish Market, Furniture Market, and Green Harbour Market. Governor Mohammed emphasized that the project aligns with the administration's economic philosophy to stimulate macro and microeconomic activities.

He commended local entrepreneurs and concessionaires involved in the project, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in sustainable development. The new facilities will provide planned shop spaces, improve sanitation, and ensure reliable power and water supply, along with enhanced security measures.
