Bauchi, Gombe Launch N20bn Hospital Upgrade Projects

The Bauchi State Government, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, has commenced a N19.9 billion upgrade project for the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, aimed at enhancing healthcare service delivery. The project includes extensive renovations, construction of new facilities, and the establishment of 130 housing units for staff.

Additionally, the project will feature new consultation clinics, admission wards, laboratories, seminar rooms, and operating theatres. To address power supply challenges, the government has approved the installation of solar generators across 20 hospitals in the state.

In Gombe State, the government is renovating and equipping five general hospitals as part of its annual healthcare infrastructure improvement program, overseen by Dr. Mohammed Abdulkadir.

This initiative includes reconstructing the General Hospital in Kumo and upgrading facilities to improve patient care. Both states aim to ensure uninterrupted power supply and better working conditions for healthcare personnel, addressing the growing patient population and enhancing the overall quality of healthcare services.
