Bauchi Governor Sacks Women Affairs Commissioner - Immediate Effect

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has removed Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development. The directive, effective immediately, was announced in a statement by the Governor's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.

While the reason for her removal was not specified, Governor Mohammed thanked Hajiya Takko for her service to the state. Hajiya Takko had been sworn in as commissioner in September 2024 after serving as the caretaker chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area.

This move is described as a minor adjustment in the State Executive Council composition.
