Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Plans Defection to APC

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, is set to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Sources indicate that negotiations regarding the terms of his defection are ongoing, with expectations that he will join the APC within the week.

Mohammed has reportedly communicated his intent to President Bola Tinubu and APC leadership. As part of the negotiations, he has been offered a senatorial ticket and privileges that extend from his previous role in the PDP.

However, conditions for his defection are stringent, particularly regarding control over the APC structure in Bauchi State. Legal challenges involving Yakubu Adamu, who faces terrorism-related charges and a money laundering case, are also influencing Mohammed's decision.
