Bauchi State Dissolves Wikki Tourist Management After Relegation

The Bauchi State Government, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, has dissolved the management committee of Wikki Tourist Football Club after the club's relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the end of the 2025-2026 season. This decision was announced in a statement by the governor's special adviser on media and public affairs, Mukhtar Gidado.

The government aims to restore public confidence in the club and improve its performance, having previously provided financial support to avert relegation. Despite these efforts, the club could not avoid dropping to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Following the dissolution, former Bauchi State Director of Sports, Alhaji Haruna Bako, was appointed as the interim sole administrator of Wikki Tourist, tasked with overseeing the club's operations and implementing measures to ensure success in the upcoming NNL season. The government expressed gratitude to the outgoing management committee, led by Salmanu Abubakar, for their service and wished them success in future endeavors.
