Housewife Beaten to Death Over Witchcraft Allegations

On July 28, 2026, in Garin Malam, Gamawa LGA, Bauchi, 30-year-old housewife Habse Ubale was beaten to death over allegations of witchcraft. The Bauchi State Police Command, represented by PPRO SP Nafiu Habib, confirmed that a 45-year-old man reported the incident, stating that Garba Daudu, aged 35, conspired with two others, Ya’u Garba and Musa, to unlawfully enter the home of Audu Sabo, aged 38.

During the attack, Habse Ubale was assaulted with sticks and machetes, leading to serious injuries for her and two minors, Sale Audu, aged 12, and Yakubu Audu, aged 14. Following the incident, police operatives, hunters, and vigilantes responded, and the victims were taken to General Hospital Gamawa for treatment.

Unfortunately, Habse Ubale was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. The police have arrested one suspect, and the corpse was released to her relatives for burial after documentation.
