Bauchi State Mourns Permanent Secretary Jalam's Death

Alhaji Shehu Yahaya Jalam, the Permanent Secretary of the Special Services Office of the Bauchi State Government, died early on Sunday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, while participating in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. His passing was attributed to a brief illness.

The incident was confirmed in a statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado, the special adviser on media and public affairs to Governor Bala Mohammed. Gidado expressed deep sorrow over Jalam's death, highlighting his dedication as a public servant and his significant contributions to the success of previous Hajj operations coordinated by the government.

The loss is felt not only within the government but also across the wider community in Bauchi State. Funeral prayers for Jalam were conducted on Sunday during the Zuhr prayer at a holy mosque in Makkah.

The Bauchi State Government extended condolences to Jalam's immediate family, friends, and associates, praying for forgiveness and strength for the bereaved.
