Nigerian Pilgrim Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Saudi Arabia

A 73-year-old woman from Gombi Local Government Area in Adamawa State, identified as Mallama Aishatu, suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while traveling to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday for the Hajj pilgrimage. The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ismail Abba Yusuf, conveyed the federal government's heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.

In a telephone conversation with Umaru Jauro Koko, the brother of the deceased, Ambassador Yusuf prayed for Mallama Aishatu to be granted Aljannatul Firdau and offered prayers for the family to find strength in their loss. He assured the family of the government's support to ensure the safe return of the deceased's remains, which includes the provision of basic travel allowances and a death certificate from the Adamawa State Pilgrim Welfare Commission.

Mallama Aishatu is survived by several children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, including Abdullahi Bello, a division officer with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
