Bauchi Police Launch Safe School Task Force for Security

The Bauchi State Police Command inaugurated a safe school task force on Thursday to tackle insecurity around educational institutions. Police Commissioner Sani Omolori Aliyu expressed concern over the increasing attacks and criminal activities targeting schools across Nigeria, which have made these institutions vulnerable to crime, banditry, kidnappings, violent attacks, cultism, and drug abuse.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen security and protect students. The Inspector General of Police has directed commands nationwide to enhance security around schools through proactive measures, inter-agency collaboration, and intelligence-led operations.

The task force will consist of multiple stakeholders committed to implementing the safe school initiative, identifying vulnerable areas, and improving emergency response mechanisms to ensure a safe teaching and learning environment.
