Bauchi State Urges NEDC to Prioritize Road Infrastructure Projects for Remote Communities

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has called on the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to prioritize road infrastructure projects in hard-to-reach communities. The NEDC has commenced inspecting projects across the state, including initiatives in education, health, and commerce. During a visit to the Governor's House in Bauchi, the Minister of State for the North East Development Commission, Uba Magari, highlighted the importance of the projects earmarked for inspection by the commission to enhance the quality of life for residents. Projects inspected so far include a fire station with a fire truck at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University's Gubi Campus.

Governor Mohammed commended the quality of work done by the NEDC, emphasizing the state government's commitment to development. He assured the NEDC of the state's full participation in project handover processes to ensure sustainability. The NEDC's interventions aim to address critical areas such as education, health, and humanitarian support in response to challenges arising from the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East region. The Governor also stressed the need for additional support in technical education, housing projects, and healthcare facilities to further enhance economic recovery and development in the state and the wider North East region.
