NEDC Commits to Fast-Track Borno Bridge Projects

The North East Development Commission (NEDC), led by Managing Director Moham Alkali, has pledged to expedite the completion of ongoing bridge projects in Borno State, specifically in the Moromoro area and Fori Galtimari. These projects include the construction of a six-span 120-meter bridge in Moromoro and a nine-span 180-meter bridge in Fori Galtimari, both of which are scheduled for completion by September 2024.

The initiative follows significant flooding that destroyed private and public properties and caused loss of life, leading to hardships for residents in terms of movement and access to services. During a site visit on Saturday, Alkali expressed satisfaction with the contractor's progress and emphasized the importance of clearing the multi-cell culvert in Moromoro to ensure timely completion.

Engr Kori Shettima commended the local community for their cooperation, which has facilitated the creation of alternative routes for residents. The NEDC aims to ensure that the bridges will serve the community effectively and improve overall connectivity.
