Bauchi State Trains Journalists on Digital Skills

On Thursday, a training retreat for journalists was held at Flourish Hotel in Gomb, Bauchi State, focusing on developing digital competencies and strengthening ethical standards in policy communication. The retreat was organized by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammad.

Gidado emphasized the importance of training and retraining journalists to achieve desired objectives, noting that the theme of the retreat was to empower the government house press crew with digital skills and ethical tools for effective policy communication. This event marked the fourth series of such training initiatives.

Usman Usman Shehu, the media adviser, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammad for sponsoring the retreat and urged participants to view themselves as partners in the state's progress. Umar Sa Idu, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Bauchi State, acknowledged the outstanding performance of journalists, particularly those in the government house press crew, for their accurate reporting on state policies.
