Bauchi State Trains Female Journalists on AI Tools

The Bauchi State Government collaborated with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) to organize a workshop aimed at training female journalists on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The workshop, held at CITAD's premises in Kano, focused on practical applications of AI in journalism, including story writing, editing, fact-checking, and multimedia content production.

Rashida Yusuf, Chairperson of NAWOJ Bauchi State Chapter, emphasized the importance of AI in modern journalism, urging participants to apply the skills acquired to improve the quality and efficiency of their reporting. Isa Garba, a Senior Program Officer at CITAD, noted the necessity for journalists to embrace technological innovations to keep pace with the evolving media landscape.

Bahijja Malam Kabara, Chairperson of NAWOJ Kano State Chapter, encouraged women journalists to adopt AI tools to enhance their professional capacity and explore new income-generating opportunities. The initiative aims to bridge the digital gap for women in journalism.
