Bayelsa Govt Warns Against Sales Of Fake Products

The Bayelsa State Government has issued a warning against the sale of fake products in the market, citing recent cases of chronic health conditions resulting from the consumption of substandard goods. The Commissioner of Information and Orientation Strategy, Ebiuwou, emphasized the influx of fake drugs, drinks, cosmetics, and other harmful products in the local market.

The government has taken steps to arrest individuals selling fake products and confiscate and discard the items. Stakeholders, including government agencies and relevant ministries, are working together to curb this menace.

Residents are urged to be vigilant while shopping, checking for expiry dates, NAFDAC registration numbers, and suspiciously low prices. The government is committed to reducing the spread of fake products and encourages the public to report any suspicious items for confidential investigation.

The Commissioner stressed the importance of awareness and education to prevent health risks associated with fake products.
