NAFDAC raises alarm over fake cowbell milk in circulation [PHOTOS]

NAFDAC has issued a warning about the presence of fake Cowbell Milk 12g sachets in the Nigerian market. The agency revealed that counterfeit versions closely resemble the genuine product, with unauthorized use of the Cowbell brand name, packaging design, and registration number.

The fake milk may carry several signs of fakery, such as old packaging artwork, batch details printed in ink instead of laser coding, and manual sealing cuts. NAFDAC cautioned that consuming the counterfeit product could pose serious health risks, including exposure to harmful substances, toxic chemicals, unapproved additives, and diluted ingredients.

Infants, children, pregnant women, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups are particularly at risk. The agency urged consumers to be vigilant, verify product authenticity, and report any suspicions or adverse effects to NAFDAC for further investigation.
