NAFDAC Seals Chinese Supermarkets and Cosmetics Shops in Abuja for Violating Regulations

NAFDAC has sealed two Chinese supermarkets and eight cosmetics shops in Abuja for allegedly violating food and drug regulations by selling unregistered products labeled exclusively in Chinese. The affected outlets were located in Jabi District, accused of not carrying English translations as required by NAFDAC.

The enforcement action followed consumer complaints and surveillance operations. The Deputy Director of Public Relations, Adegboyega Osiyemi, confirmed the sealing, emphasizing the importance of regulated products carrying English translations for the Nigerian market.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Federal Taskforce on Counterfeit Substandard Medicines and Unwholesome Processed Foods. NAFDAC also sealed eight cosmetic shops in Wuse Market for selling banned, expired, and unregistered products.
