Bayelsa to Host Inaugural Yenagoa City 10km Race

The Bayelsa State government, in partnership with Nilayo Sports Management, has announced the inaugural Yenagoa City International 10km race, scheduled for April 4, 2026. This landmark sporting event is designed to position Bayelsa as a premier destination for global sports tourism.

The race will officially commence at 9:30 AM from the Opolo Roundabout, featuring a carefully designed 10-kilometer route that highlights the scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere of Yenagoa. Athletes will finish at Peace Park Square, where a grand celebration will take place, fostering community spirit.

The event will also include a high-energy post-race concert featuring top artists, blending sports and entertainment. Registration for participants is open online and at designated physical locations, with race bib kits available for collection from March 30 to April 3, 2026.
