Bayelsa and Delta States Receive Niger Delta Games Torch

On February 19, 2023, Bayelsa and Delta States received the torch for the Niger Delta Games, an event managed by Dunamis Ikpokpo, Managing Director of Dunamis Icon Limited. The torch was presented at the Samson Siasia Complex in Bayelsa State.

Governor Douye Diri commended the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Dunamis Icon Limited for their roles in organizing the games. He expressed optimism that the tournament would elevate sports development in the Niger Delta region, positioning it ahead of other regions in Nigeria.

The second edition of the Niger Delta Games is set to formally open on February 20 and will conclude with a closing ceremony on February 26. The chairman and CEO of Dunamis Icon Limited, Chief Ikpokpo, represented the Secretary of the Liaison Committee for Bayelsa State, Mr.

Lovedai Herbert, during the torch-lighting ceremony.
