Bayern Munich Fined €89,625 by UEFA for Fan Incident

Bayern Munich has been fined a total of €89,625 by UEFA following an incident during their Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid earlier in April. The fine comprises several penalties: €40,000 for spectator disturbance, €30,000 for a fan banner criticizing UEFA, €14,000 for blocking aisles, and €5,625 for throwing objects.

The incident occurred when fans from the Bayern ultra section climbed a barrier to celebrate, leading to a trampling on the pitch side. Photographers were injured, with one suffering a concussion and head lacerations, while others required medical treatment.

Despite the threat of a fan lockout for the second semi-final leg against Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern is confident of a full house to celebrate football in their stadium. Christoph Freund, Bayern's sports director, commented prior to UEFA's decision.
