In Big Brother Naija Season 11, known as the “Show Ya Sef” edition, contestant Temi Nkem, who is based in the United Kingdom, sparked controversy on Sunday evening regarding her English proficiency. During the first day of the reality show, Big Brother instructed a housemate to visit the diary room to collect weekly guidelines.

Temi Nkem, having received her education in the UK, promptly went to retrieve the instructions to relay to her fellow housemates. However, it became apparent that the other housemates struggled to understand her grammar, leading to confusion and chaos in the house.

In her frustration, Temi was overheard expressing disbelief at her housemates' inability to comprehend her, stating, “Are you children that you don’t understand English?
