Mourinho Set to Join Real Madrid as New Manager

Benfica has officially confirmed that José Mourinho will be the next manager of Real Madrid. The Portuguese club released a statement on Tuesday night, indicating that Mourinho has already agreed to terms with Real Madrid, which will pay a compensation fee of around €15 million.

The announcement follows the re-election of Florentino Pérez as president of Real Madrid over the weekend. Mourinho, who is 63 years old, will replace Marco Silva, who has left Fulham.

Benfica expressed gratitude to Mourinho for his agreement and confirmed that Marco Silva has signed an employment contract with Benfica that is valid for two seasons, extending until 2028-29. The formal expression of intent from Real Madrid to hire Mourinho was communicated to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM).
