BAECC's Daramola Calls for Patience on Highway Project

Samuel Daramola, the Chief Executive Officer of BAECC, issued a statement regarding the ongoing reconstruction of the Benin-Asaba highway, emphasizing the company's commitment to the project despite challenges posed by persistent rainfall. The project is under a 36-month construction program that includes extensive reconstruction, expansion, drainage systems, and traffic management.

Daramola acknowledged the inconvenience faced by motorists and communities, stating that the company is focused on keeping traffic moving while construction occurs. Significant preparatory work has been completed, including earthworks and drainage construction, although much of it may not be immediately visible.

Daramola noted that the rainfall has complicated operations but has not halted construction. BAECC is managing traffic while working on the highway, sometimes reopening treated sections earlier than preferred to alleviate congestion.

The company plans to continue palliative measures to reduce hardship for motorists as the permanent reconstruction progresses.
