Oba Ewuare II Mobilizes Traditionalists Against Kidnapping

On July 10, Oba Ewuare II of Benin City convened a meeting with native doctors and traditionalists to address the rising issues of kidnapping and crime in Edo State. He instructed them to bring traditional instruments to perform rituals aimed at restoring peace and eradicating criminal elements from the kingdom.

The monarch expressed his concern over the negative impact of social vices, stating that such occurrences should not happen in the state. He emphasized the importance of prayers and traditional actions to chase away evil forces.

Chief Akenuwa and Chief Osaigbovo Osamwonyi supported the Oba's efforts, highlighting the need for collective action to ensure peace reigns in the state.
