Ondo Traditional Ruler Kidnapped, Wife Injured in Attack

On Saturday night, approximately six armed men invaded the palace of Oba Adeniyi Adelana, the traditional ruler of Odo Oriya in Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, and abducted him. The attack occurred around 8:05 PM, during which the assailants shot the monarch's wife, who sustained injuries to her right hand.

She has since been taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Abayomi Jimoh, spokesperson for the Ondo Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the police division in Owo mobilized security personnel immediately upon receiving the distress report.

A comprehensive search and rescue operation has been launched across the surrounding forests to locate the kidnapped monarch and apprehend the suspects. The police command, led by Commissioner Wilfr Afolabi, is committed to ensuring the safe return of the victim and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
