Agatu Council Awards Road Contracts to Boost Connectivity

The Agatu local government council in Benue State has awarded contracts for the construction of three strategic roads to M/s RCSY Construction Nigeria Limited. The roads include the Oshigbudu–Atakpa Road, Market Square–Onchali Road, and Adokpa–Och’ Adogoji Road, with construction scheduled to commence next week.
Melvin James Ejeh, the chairman of the council and deputy chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Benue state chapter, stated that the roads would be built to high standards, featuring asphalt surfacing and concrete drainage systems to enhance safety and durability. This project will also complete the Oshigbudu–Atakpa section of the Oshigbudu–Ogbaulu Odugbeho Road.
Ejeh expressed gratitude to Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for supporting local government councils and acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Ojotu Ojema, a member of the House of Representatives, in facilitating the construction of a significant portion of the Oshigbudu–Atakpa Road. Ejeh emphasized the council's commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development to improve living conditions and promote economic activities in Agatu.
