Benue CSOs Nominate Chairmen for Security Awards

A coalition of civil society organizations and community development associations in Benue State has nominated three Local Government Council Chairmen for special zonal awards recognizing their contributions to internal security and peace-building. The awards aim to acknowledge local government leaders who have shown commitment to protecting lives and property.

Joseph Uyeh, the Convener and President of the coalition, commended Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for his decisive actions against insecurity and efforts to restore peace in affected communities. The coalition noted significant improvements in security in several Local Government Areas, attributing progress to local authorities' collaboration with state and federal security initiatives.

Hon. Melvin Ejeh, Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area, was specifically recognized for enhancing security coordination. The nominated Chairmen include Hon. Justin Shaku of Katsina-Ala and others from Gwer West, with all three areas previously identified as security flashpoints now showing improved stability.
