Alia's Support for Agatu Defended by Local Council Chair

Hon. Melvin Ejeh, the Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council, defended Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia against accusations of neglecting Agatu. Ejeh dismissed these claims as false and politically motivated, asserting that the Alia administration has provided unprecedented support for local development.

He cited the ongoing construction of the 43-kilometre Obagaji-Okokolo-Agagbe road, which costs approximately N29 billion, as a significant achievement. This project is expected to enhance security and reduce travel time between Makurdi and Agatu by about two hours.

Ejeh noted that the road passes through previously insecure areas, improving emergency response times. He also highlighted the political representation for Agatu under Alia, mentioning Dr. Margaret Adekemi Ijaguwa's role as Commissioner for Education and the establishment of a government technical school in Enungba.

Ejeh emphasized that all achievements in Agatu were made possible through the governor's moral, spiritual, financial, and logistical support.
