Benue Assembly Insists Dajoh’s Resignation Was Personal Decision

The Benue State Assembly has confirmed that the resignation of former Speaker Titus Uba was a personal decision. Assembly spokesperson Elias Audu emphasized that lawmakers act independently of the executive branch.

Governor Samuel Ortom denied any involvement in Uba's resignation, stating his commitment to the state's progress. Uba formally stepped down in a letter on Sunday, citing the decision as being in the best interest of the state.

Deputy Speaker Lami Ogenyi presided over an emergency plenary session where Berger Emberga was unanimously elected as the new Speaker. Emberga, who was recently suspended for an alleged impeachment plot, pledged to work with his colleagues to advance the development agenda of Benue State.
