Governor Alia Submits Six Commissioner Nominees in Benue

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia submitted the names of six commissioner nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation. The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Zape Upaa, communicated this in a statement.

In his letter addressed to the Speaker, Rt Hon Alfred Aondoaver Emberga, Governor Alia indicated that the submission was intended to strengthen the State Executive Council and enhance the administration's expertise and capacity. The nominees are Hon Kuma Aii Yenge, Hon Roy Ashirga Terna, Hon Angwa Egbe Monday, Hon Elizabeth Onma Ogenyi, Hon Solomon Iorpev, and Hon Nick Eworo.

The governor requested the House to give the nominees prompt and favorable consideration in line with its constitutional duties. This submission follows the resignation of some executive council members who left to contest various elective offices during the primary elections.
