Ortom Denies Plot to Replace PDP Governorship Candidate

Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, issued a statement on Friday through his Media Assistant, Zege Paul Terhide, denying social media reports suggesting a plot to replace the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Aondoakaa. Ortom clarified that a meeting involving himself, Senate Minority Leader Senator Patrick Abba Moro, Aondoakaa, and other prominent Benue stakeholders was aimed at fostering a strategic alliance for the state's benefit, not discussing any changes to the governorship ticket.

He emphasized that the issue of replacing Aondoakaa was never raised or considered during the meeting. Ortom reaffirmed Aondoakaa as the duly nominated PDP candidate for the 2027 election, highlighting the candidate's experience and capability to address Benue's challenges.

He urged those spreading false information to cease their actions and called on PDP members and the public to disregard the misleading reports.
