Aondoakaa Denies Pact with Akume, Atiku for 2027 Elections

Michael Aondoakaa (SAN), the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, issued a statement denying any political pact with George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar concerning the 2027 elections. This response followed allegations from the International Centre for Transparency Nigeria, which claimed Aondoakaa had made arrangements with Akume, Atiku, and former Governor Samuel Ortom.

Aondoakaa's media aide, James Ian, conveyed that there was no evidence supporting these allegations. He stated that Aondoakaa is focused on building a coalition among Benue people and presenting a credible alternative based on security, economic recovery, agricultural development, job creation, and responsible governance.

Aondoakaa also noted that Ortom, who previously rejected Atiku's presidential candidacy in 2023, maintains his stance on the presidency rotating to the South, further discrediting the claims made against him.
