Benue State Juice Plant Expansion Targets 100,000 Metric Tons

Benue State has announced a significant investment from Picama Sono Group, led by Chief Executive Mr. Frank Rung, during a business visit to Governor Hyacinth Alia at the Government House in Makurdi.

The investment aims to expand the capacity of the Bensono Concentrate Plant from its current 40,000 metric tons to 100,000 metric tons and establish a new juice product line, Meigo, within the next six months. This initiative is designed to reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen agro-processing, and create opportunities for farmers in the state’s economy.

Deputy Governor Barr. Sam Od reaffirmed the state government's commitment to providing an enabling environment for investors, improving policies, and enhancing security.

The investment is a result of successful partnerships with Sono International and BIPC, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, Managing Director of BIPC, involved in the discussions.

Additionally, Bokku Supermart is considering off-take agreements for the company's products to boost market access.
