betPawa Disburses $1.67M in Locker Room Bonus Programme

betPawa has disbursed $1.67 million from its Locker Room Bonus Programme across eight African markets, including Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, and Cameroon. This initiative has reached 7,000 players across 387 teams, covering 3,000 matches.

The program distinguishes itself with a parity structure, rewarding both men's and women's teams equally. Kresten Buch, the founder of betPawa, emphasized that the Locker Room Bonus was designed to address economic challenges faced by players, ensuring they receive payments immediately after matches.

The program is not a charity; instead, it rewards athletes based on their performance outcomes. Mr.

Eazi, the chairman of Choplif and an ambassador for betPawa, stated that the Locker Room Bonus values respect and achievement, providing real financial rewards to players without favoritism. The initiative has also expanded to include partnerships with leagues such as the Kenya Volleyball Federation.
