Germany’s Foreign Minister to Strengthen Ties with Nigeria

Mr. Johann Wadephul, Germany’s Foreign Minister, is scheduled to visit Nigeria from July 21 to July 22 for high-level discussions with Nigerian government officials.

The aim of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations, expand trade and investment, and enhance regional cooperation. Mr.

Felix Haala, the head press political counselor at the German Embassy, disclosed this information in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja. Wadephul will be accompanied by a business delegation, including chief executive officers and senior executives from leading German companies in the energy sector, as well as members of the German parliament.

During his visit, he will hold talks with Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, and the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Dr.

Omar Tourai. The discussions will focus on regional development, peace, security, and economic integration opportunities.

Wadephul is also scheduled to participate in a business roundtable involving German and Nigerian companies to explore new trade and investment opportunities.
