OPay Expands Educational Support Initiatives in Nigeria

OPay is enhancing its social impact efforts in Nigeria by focusing on education, skills development, and community support. The organization has launched the OPay Scholars Programme, an expansion of its ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship initiative aimed at providing long-term educational support for young Nigerians.

This programme integrates the scholarship initiative with the National Innovation Challenge, in partnership with Google and 3MTT, and OPay Futures, which emphasizes employability and career pathways. So far, the scholarship programme has directly benefited over 1,200 individuals.

The initiative recognizes that while financial support is crucial for education, young Nigerians also require skills and opportunities to succeed in the workforce. Additionally, OPay's Play4aChild initiative has supported over 14,000 children by providing educational materials to enhance their learning experiences.

The overall goal is to equip young Nigerians with the necessary tools to thrive academically and professionally.
