OPay Launches ₦1.2bn Scholarship for 41 Institutions

OPay has initiated a ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship program aimed at supporting students across Nigerian tertiary institutions. Initially covering 20 institutions, the program has expanded to 25 following a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miva Open University.

OPay plans to include 16 additional institutions by the end of 2026, bringing the total to 41. This scholarship program is part of the broader OPay Scholars Programme, which also includes the OPay National Innovation Challenge in partnership with Google and 3MTT.

The initiative is designed to provide consistent scholarship support over a decade, offering a reliable form of assistance for students pursuing higher education. Miva Open University, known for its technology-driven approach, enhances the program by enabling more students to benefit from flexible learning models.
