Gov. Soludo Calls for National Dialogue on Igbo Issues

On a recent occasion in Awka, Anambra State, Governor Prof. Charles Soludo advocated for a structured national dialogue to address the challenges facing the Igbo people within Nigeria.

He made this call during a performance titled "Tale of Two Nnamdis," presented by students from the Theatre Arts Department of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Soludo expressed concern over the lack of structured intellectual engagement regarding the political discourse affecting the Igbo population.

He praised the students for spearheading the conversation but cautioned against past agitation methods, particularly the "sit-at-home" syndrome, which has persisted for five years and often harms the people. Reflecting on the trauma of the civil war, Soludo shared personal experiences and emphasized the importance of civil discourse.

He challenged the Igbo populace to engage politically and questioned the viability of seeking the presidency while expressing reservations about the Nigerian project. Soludo reiterated his readiness to participate in structured civil dialogue with various groups, including factions led by Nnamdi Kanu.
