Soludo Urges Scholars to Transform Research into Policy

On Tuesday, during the sixth biennial Adada lecture series at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, called on Nigerian scholars to convert academic research into effective public policy to facilitate Nigeria's rebirth. He highlighted the disconnect between academic research and government policy, noting that despite Nigeria producing thousands of scholarly articles, there remains a significant barrier to progress due to a lack of translation of this knowledge into actionable policies.

Soludo questioned why the Adada zone has not yet achieved first-world status despite having numerous professors and emphasized the importance of intellectual leadership in addressing local issues. He also discussed the historical marginalization of the Igbo people and the need for their interests to be served within a united Nigeria.

Soludo concluded by challenging the academic community to actively engage in problem-solving and to not remain complacent in their achievements.
