Bianca Ojukwu Outlines Nigeria's Foreign Policy Agenda

Bianca Ojukwu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted her first formal briefing with the diplomatic corps in Abuja, where she delineated Nigeria's foreign policy priorities under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Ojukwu stated that the foreign policy will focus on four key areas: demography, development, democracy, and diaspora, with an emphasis on strategic autonomy and national interest guiding Nigeria's international relations.

She announced initiatives to revitalize inactive joint and bi-national commissions to enhance bilateral relations and achieve tangible outcomes in trade, investment, security, and education. Ojukwu urged foreign missions to communicate through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for official matters and committed to providing prompt responses to diplomatic and consular requests.

Additionally, she called for measures to alleviate visa challenges faced by Nigerians.
