Bida Poly Deploys Soldiers Amid Exam Crisis

The Federal Polytechnic Bida in Niger State deployed soldiers as exam invigilators due to lecturers' absence caused by an ongoing industrial crisis. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) declared an indefinite strike over unpaid allowances and excess workload.

ASUP members were urged to boycott exams, leading to the deployment of soldiers to ensure exam security. The management took this step after a circular citing security concerns.

ASUP's Comrade Kolo Joshua advised members to leave the campus for safety. The situation highlights the challenges faced by educational institutions during labor disputes, impacting students' academic progress.
