Abuja Faces Blackout Due to Transmission Station Maintenance

Parts of Abuja are currently experiencing a blackout as a result of a maintenance exercise at the Karu 132/33 kilovolt transmission station. The outage is expected to last until the exercise is completed, disrupting power supply to areas serviced by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) such as Jikwoyi, Orozo, Kurudu, Karshi, and Navi Estate.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is conducting the maintenance to replace a defective 33kv feeder line, causing the AEDC to temporarily halt power distribution to its customers in the affected areas.
