Blessing CEO Returns to Instagram Amid Cancer Controversy

Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, returned to Instagram amid backlash following her claim of being diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. The controversy began in January when she announced her diagnosis and appealed for financial assistance, sharing a medical report to support her claim.

However, the authenticity of the document was disputed, as it allegedly belonged to Deborah Mbara, a makeup artist and cancer survivor, who accused Blessing CEO of using her medical report without consent. This led to public outrage and concerns regarding the legitimacy of her fundraising efforts, which were reported to have raised approximately 300 million Naira under false pretenses.

The Nigerian Cancer Society called for a thorough investigation, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was urged to ensure accountability. Following the escalation of the controversy, Blessing CEO deactivated her Instagram account but has since returned without publicly addressing the allegations.
