FG Reaffirms Commitment to Agge Deep Sea Port Project

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to the Agge Deep Sea Port project in Bayelsa State, describing it as a strategic infrastructure initiative that will drive economic growth, create jobs, and attract both local and foreign investments in the Niger Delta region. In a statement issued in Abuja, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, noted that the Agge Deep Sea Port remains a key priority for the federal government as part of ongoing efforts to unlock the immense potential of Nigeria's marine blue economy sector.

The realization of the port aligns with the broader vision of President Bola Tinubu's administration to revitalize the economy and transform projects that promote trade and industrial sustainability. The completed port will serve as a major maritime gateway for the South-South region, facilitating international trade, alleviating congestion at existing ports, and significantly boosting economic activity across the country.

The project is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities and stimulate investments, thereby strengthening Nigeria's position as a maritime hub in West Africa.
