Adamawa Journalists Honored with Excellence Awards

At an awards ceremony held over the weekend, several journalists, including Muazu Abari from Blueprint Newspaper, received excellence awards from the Adamawa correspondents’ chapel. Other awardees included Mr.

Onimisi Alao from Nation Newspaper, Mr. Clement Ekong from New Telegraph, Mr.

Freedom Haslon from Channel Television, Mr. Golfa Fridai from Radio Nigeria, Ibrahim Abubakar from LN 24, Mr.

Tom Garba from TG News, and Ijeoma Yusuf Mamorah from New. The awards were presented by Mr.

Iliya Jame, representing the permanent secretary of the Adamawa State Commission for Information, who expressed appreciation for journalists' dedication to promoting government activities and enlightening the public. Prof.

Danjuma Gambo, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at Madibbo Adama University, reminded journalists of their responsibility to safeguard democracy, especially with the upcoming 2027 elections. He urged them to resist any attempts by politicians to compromise their platforms and to ensure accurate and balanced reporting.
