Premium Times Honors Journalists at Abuja Award Night

On Saturday, October 21, 2023, Premium Times hosted an award night at Bon Hotel Octagon in Abuja, recognizing the contributions of various journalists. Adeniyi addressed the audience, discussing the significance of fact-based reporting in Nigeria's challenging media landscape, which is affected by the presence of untrained individuals and quack journalists.

He commended Premium Times for maintaining traditional journalistic ethics despite operating in a digital space. Musikilu Mojeed, the Editor-in-Chief, reflected on the organization's impact over the past fifteen years, citing stories that exposed corruption and public safety issues.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by journalists, including harassment and cyberattacks, but affirmed the organization's resilience. Awards were presented to several journalists, including Folashad Ogunrind, who received the 2024 Investigative Award, and Kabiru Yusuf, who was named Editor of the Year.

Each award included a cash prize, with a total of N500,000 awarded.
