Kwara Farmers to Receive New Inputs from Fadama-CARES

Farmers in Kwara State are poised to benefit from a new round of agricultural inputs and assets under the Fadama-CARES program. The All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) will play a crucial role in mobilizing farmers ahead of the distribution.

This development was announced during a meeting on Monday between the newly inaugurated executive of AFAN’s Kwara State chapter and officials from Kwara Fadama-CARES. Engr. Dr Busari Toyin Isiaka, the State Project Coordinator of Kwara Fadama-CARES, encouraged AFAN to actively participate in the distribution process to ensure farmers are well-informed and mobilized.

He emphasized that stronger engagement with farmers’ associations would enhance communication and responsiveness to farmers' needs. AFAN Treasurer, Engr. Funsho Afolayan, confirmed the association's readiness to collaborate with Fadama-CARES, leveraging its extensive structure to effectively mobilize farmers.

AFAN represents 28 commodity organizations and serves as a vital link between farmers and government, advising on agricultural policies and supporting training on climate-smart practices.
