Boko Haram Intercept Food Trucks, Set Vehicles Ablaze in Maiduguri Attack

Boko Haram militants, suspected to be linked to the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP), intercepted a fleet of trucks transporting food supplies on the Maiduguri route in Borno State. The incident took place on a Saturday along the Monnguno-Guzamala-Axi Burmari-Garin Kashim village axis.

The insurgents stopped two trailers and three dump trucks carrying foodstuff, setting one trailer on fire before fleeing to nearby bushes. The drivers managed to escape unharmed, with community members helping to extinguish the fire.

The lack of security patrols along the volatile road was noted, leading to repeated attacks and causing truck owners to withdraw their vehicles from the route.
