Boko Haram Steals Over 100 Cows in Borno State Attack

In Borno State, suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists intercepted four trailers transporting cattle near Kareto in Mobbar LGA. The terrorists stole over 100 cows and burnt down the trucks transporting the animals.

The incident occurred close to Garin Kashim in Guzamala LGA. Fortunately, no casualties were reported among the drivers.

The attack took place around 1:25 pm, shortly after the trailers departed from Damasak. The terrorists offloaded the cows into vehicles and fled the scene.

The lack of security on the roads was highlighted, with calls for increased fortification by security forces. The Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan, condemned the attack, which occurred on February 1, 2026, resulting in the death of 17 people in Guzamala's Abbari village.
